Note: Sandra Brown, MA provides services in accordance with the ethics of Trauma Informed Care practices. This means that Sandra recognizes what causes trauma in others—both the survivors who have been clients and those who will be reading/hearing your media event. Because of the risk of re-traumatizing survivors who read or hear these stories, Sandra does not grant media requests to agencies that merely seek access to survivors, and does not generate survivor stories for media interviews that do not also provide help and resources for survivors who will be hearing/reading the media piece. Survivors can be re-traumatized when they recognize themselves in the stories, so it is essential that they be offered access to services at the time they are experiencing the trauma. Sandra’s requirement is in line with Trauma Informed Care best practices.

Sandra’s approach is to provide Public Pathology Education to the general public and unreached survivor populations, which includes Trauma Informed Care practices of providing education, insight, and resources along with survivor stories. If your story is going to include educational and support resources, Sandra is happy to provide an interview. Thank you for caring about the impact to the survivors whose stories you wish to hear.
